How to look after your treen*

Most of the treen I make is finished with an oil like cold-pressed pure linseed oil or hemp oil. These are polymerizing oils and will enter the surface of the wood and over time they will harden and protect the wood. NEVER use a non-polymerizing oil like olive oil as it will stay in a liquid form and go rancid. You can, if desired and after prolonged use, apply some raw linseed or hemp oil, just wipe on, leave for a few minutes and then wipe off.

For objects like spoons, spurtles, spatulas and rolling pins just wash in warm water and dry immediately, NEVER put them in a dishwasher or leave in a bowl or pool of water.

For shrink-pots, knobs, tethers and Mementos you can just wipe occasionally with a sort cloth.

*Treen is generally any woodenware consisting of small, functional household articles such as spoons, shrinkpots or bowls.
