This is a hand-turned spurtle.

Spurtles are useful for stirring any type of cooking, especially thick mixes like porridge or oatmeal, thick casseroles, stews, or anything that would stick to a spoon. We use ours for mixing our sourdough mix.

At approximately 25cm (9 3/4 inch) long and 2cm (3/4 inch) in diameter It is made with love from Essex cherry on a foot-powered pole lathe.

It has been finished with a coating of hemp oil to protect it.

To look after your spurtle, just wash in warm soapy water after use (NOT in a dishwasher), and dry.
