This is a hand-turned spurtle with an acorn detail made from locally sourced birch.

Spurtles are useful for stirring any type of cooking, especially thick mixes like porridge or oatmeal, thick casseroles, stews, or anything that would stick to a spoon. We use ours for mixing our sourdough mix.

At approximately 29cm (11 1/2 inch) long and 2cm (3/4 inch) in diameter It is made with love from Essex birch on a pole lathe with a hand-carved acorn detail on the end.

To look after your spurtle, just wash in warm soapy water after use, NOT in a dishwasher, and dry.
